RBI Imposes Restrictions On Maharashtra-Based Konark Urban Co-op BankThe RBI on Tuesday imposed several restrictions, including on withdrawals, on The Konark Urban Co-operative Bank, Ulhasnagar (Maharashtra), in the wake of the bank's deteriorating financial situation.

"Considering the bank's present liquidity position, no amount from the total balance across all savings bank or current accounts or any other account of a depositor may be allowed to be withdrawn, but are allowed to set off loans," the Reserve Bank said.

The RBI further said restrictions on the lender should not per se be construed as cancellation of banking license.
